What do you think is the ‘ultimate’ growth hack?
The answer HAS to be influencer marketing. This is a marketing strategy that ticks all the boxes that an ultimate strategy should tick. It is highly effective, it works instantly and it’s easy. If you get this right, then you can get hundreds of thousands more people to your website overnight and completely transform your success in the process.
So, what is influencer marketing? Simply, this is a form of marketing that piggy backs on the success of pre-existing influencer. An influencer in this context is simply anyone who has their own website, social media account or other means of reaching a large audience.
You then team up with those influencers and in doing so, you get them to post about your content or just give you a ‘shout out’ even on their site. This then means that you are exposed to hundreds of thousands of people who have the right interests and you’re also getting a testimonial of sorts from someone that they trust. Imagine if you got a recommendation from Tim Ferriss over night: it would probably mean you could quit your day job the next day! This happened with a big YouTuber named JackSepticeye. He is now very wealthy all thanks to one shout out from Pewdiepie.
How to Make it Work
This is an exciting opportunity for growth, but it’s very difficult of course to get those influencers to respond. So, what’s the solution?
The first tip is to start from the bottom and work your way up. If you approach Tim Ferriss tomorrow, he will ignore you. But if you approach someone with the same number of visitors or even fewer than you, then you will likely get a response. Don’t dismiss this! That still doubles your exposure at least!
Another tip is to actually meet these people in real life or at least to have a phone conversation if you can. Networking is far easier in person and you become much harder to dismiss once someone has actually met you. So, attend networking events and do what you can to get an introduction. Failing that? Hire the person you want to use as an influencer. If you hire them, then they have to answer you. And once they’ve answered you, they won’t easily be able to ignore you in future!
Content makes the web go round. If you want more traffic, if you want more loyal visitors and if you want better search rankings, then you need content.
But this is even truer on social media. Sharing your own content is perhaps the best social media strategy and if other people share it with their networks too? Even better. This can result in potentially exponential gains that massively accelerate your growth. But how do you write content in such a way that people will want to share it?
Tip 1: Make it Specific
The single most powerful tip I can possibly share on this topic is to aim your content at someone specific. That means that it should be tailored for your ‘persona’ – the demographic that you think will want to read your content.
This works because it leverages the communicative nature of social media. Generally, we share content with someone to show that we are thinking of them or we share it generally because it in some way reflects our personality.
For either of these things to work, you first need to write your content in such a way that it will specifically appeal to that certain type of person.
Tip 2: Facilitate Discussion
Another tip is to facilitate discussion, or to make your post something that can be used as part of discussion. Making your post something that asks a challenging question and takes a potentially controversial stance is one way to do that. A safer way is to make a post that can explain a topic or back up an argument, thereby making it something that people can share with their friends or people in online communities when they’re having discussions.
Tip 3: Choose the Right Images
The right images go a long way to making your content more sharable and engaging. Did you know that a lot of the time, people click ‘like’ or ‘share’ before they’ve even read the content? In that case, they’re going off of the title and the image alone. So make sure your image says something and really jumps out.
Tip 4: Choose the Right Title
And so with that in mind, you of course also need the right title. What is a good title for social media?
Clickbait titles work very well but are frowned upon for being spammy. So learn from them, don’t copy them. Make your titles emotionally resonant, unique and interesting while having some meat to deliver on when people click!
Want to launch your website into the stratosphere? Want to get more traffic than you know what to do with?
Then you’re probably interested in growth hacks. You’ve probably read a ton of them already in fact and you probably think you have a pretty good idea of what they entail and how they work.
But I am willing to bet that you’re probably missing THE single most powerful growth hack of them all: leveraging the power of community.
So what do I mean by this?
The answer is simple: using social sites like Reddit and like forums in order to make a name for yourself, to meet people and to promote your site in a way that otherwise would never be close to possible.
So, when people think about posting their content to Reddit, or a Google+ community, they often do so in a way that is quite cynical. That is to say that they will head over to the subreddit on the subject matter they’re most interested in, post their link and then leave.
And then they wonder why they don’t get any luck with it!
What usually happens in return, is that the link is viewed as spam by the existing community. They’ve never heard of you before, so why should they be interested in what you have to say? Very clearly, you are just using this page as a place to spared your content!
Downvoting means that your content will only be seen by a fraction of the people who could have seen it otherwise. And eventually it might be removed entirely.
But now let’s imagine you do this the right way. You spend a lot of time in that subreddit and you use this time to answer people’s questions, to ask thoughtful ones of your own and to engage in some witty banter.
People in there learn to trust you. They come to respect your opinion. And they look out for your future posts whenever you make them. And when you share your content now, you’ve actually earned it!
Not only does this result in hugely more clicks on your link but it also means that they may even try and help you to promote that content and offer you some free marketing. These aren’t just people to market to any more, they are friends. That’s a powerful difference.
A lot of people give up on promoting a website before they ever reach their full potential. There seems to be something of a mistake belief that we should be able to create a new website, fill it with content and then start making a full-time income in a matter of months.
This is not the case. In fact, it is far from the truth.
Instead, it will likely take a year if not several years until you eventually reach that point. You may never reach that point and you should never take it as a given.
If you take a look at some of the biggest brands on the web and the biggest names on the web, you might think they have it easy and you might wish that you had their website. But guess what? They probably wished the same thing a few years back. Most big blogs and sites will admit that it took them years before they gained traction!
Of course, there are certain things you can do to speed up the process. A number of growth hacks can really work and most of those big sites do describe there being some kind of catalyst or turning point at which they started to gain momentum – maybe they were shared in the local paper or they got a link from a big site.
These things tend top be the result of luck rather than their effort but they made that luck by continuously plugging away and by creating those kinds of opportunities.
But the single most important thing that all these sites did and that they have in common, is that they didn’t give up. If you are tempted to give up on your site because it hasn’t become massive overnight, then you will never know if you might have started to see rapid growth in the next month. Or the month after.
This is why it is so important to make sure that you are truly passionate about the topic that you cover. If you’re not, then you won’t have the drive to keep on writing even when the views aren’t there.
The other thing to keep in mind is that your growth will be exponential. The more views you get and the more influence, the easier it is to get even more views and even more influence. So don’t give up!
There is a lot of confusion and misunderstanding when it comes to content marketing.
The problem is that content marketing sounds incredibly simple. Content marketing simply means posting to a website regularly so that there is content for people to read and so that Google will find the content right?
As long as you post regularly, it doesn’t really matter what the content you share is. Once someone reads your posts and sees they’re coming in regularly, they’ll start to follow your site… for sure.
Hopefully you can already see the problem here when you say it out loud! In reality, this is how content marketing actually works…
Slow and Steady
Contrary to popular belief, people don’t get wowed by your website on the first visit for the most part. Normally, we are reading the web because we need some information quickly or we fancy a bit of entertainment. Thus we search Google or we click that link our friend shared. We scroll down the page, dismissing the pop up asking us to fill in our email (why would we??) and we read. We never even notice the logo at the top of the page.
Things only start to click into place if we then visit that site again. And again. Through fluke on Google, or because a friend keeps sharing the content, we start to see the same brand crop up a few times and because that’s happened, we start to recognize it. It’s only at this point that we then make a mental note of the site and think of it as one we trust and one we’d like to hear more from.
And now, instead of searching for ‘how to lose weight’, we search for ‘how to lose weight breakingmuscle’. Because that’s our ‘go to’ site for that kind of information and we want to know what they have to say.
Eventually, if they keep on impressing in this capacity, then we might go on to start reading their regular posts, or we might just subscribe to their feed. And only then do we start to get to know the person behind the content, start to know them and trust them and consider subscribing to their email list and maybe buying from them.
The conclusion? Content marketing isn’t a magic bullet. It is hard work and it is only effective at all if you consistently put out excellent quality work.
Different Ways to Think About Remarketing
Remarketing is a clever for of advertising offered by Google.
Remarketing essentially means showing ads to people who have already been to your site. Whereas advertising is traditionally used to increase awareness among those not familiar with your brand, the idea here is instead to show ads to those people who nearly bought from you but didn’t quite. Or to show them to people who did buy from you and might want to again! And actually, this can be a much more cost effective way to spend your money!
The only thing to keep in mind is that remarketing is a different beast compared with traditional marketing and it needs to be approached as such. Here are some differences that you should keep in mind.
Comat the Objections
With other forms of marketing, the aim is to make people aware of your product and why it’s good. If you’re showing an add to someone who lingered on your checkout page though, they probably know what you sell and why it’s interesting. The problem is that they had objections that prevented them from clicking ‘buy’ – maybe they didn’t have the money, maybe they didn’t trust your brand, or maybe they thought you were ‘just another scam’.
A better way to think about your text in remarketing ads then is as a way to convince people to overcome those objections.
For instance, you might focus your text on telling people about your 100% money back guarantee. Or perhaps you might use it to tell them why buying from you is actually aninvestment.
Offer a Deal
This is actually the perfect time to offer a deal. If someone has thought about buying something and decided not to, then it might just take a little push – like some money off – to change their mind. Now is the ideal time to talk about that deal and to get them to change their mind!
Do you have a business? Does your business have a website?
I hope your answer is yes on both questions. It is almost as if your business does not exist if you don’t have a website. In these days almost everything happens online. For example, teeanagers spend 27 hours a week online. That means an average of 4 hours/day.
Why do you think people visit a website?
They do it primarily to find information about things, companies and a lot of other stuff. Think about yourself. You want to buy something you heard about. What is the first thing you do? How do you research that product or service? Probably you are searching it online.
Why do you need a website for you business? What are the advantages and benefits of having a website?
- Less expensive
Have you ever advertised through various forms such as radio, television, printed media? Investing in advertising is necessary. But it is sometimes expesive. Having a website will cut your advertising costs and you will be able to control the target audience and the budget.
Have you ever had to turn a costumer away because it is closing time? Well, you will nt have to close the doors of your website. Often, people will look to your website instead of visiting your shop because it is more accessible for them.
- Better relationship
Having a website for your business may build a better relationship with your customers or potential customers.
- Increase sales
More visitors in your website leads to more potential sales.
